Julie Chrisley‘s family is reacting to the news of her resentencing verdict.

As the Chrisley Knows Best alum came before a judge in downtown Atlanta on Wednesday, Sept. 25, she was informed that her 84-month sentence was being upheld. Now, her loved ones are speaking out about the decision.

In a video obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Julie’s eldest children Savannah Chrisley and Chase Chrisley appeared alongside their family’s attorney Alex Little to address the ruling before the press.

“This is 100 percent [an] injustice,” Savannah, 27, said.

“What has happened is an injustice,” she continued. “I will continue to fight for my parents. And I will be as loud as I can possibly be because the judge clearly showed today that she was using my outspokenness to change a system that is so broken.”

Questioning the judge’s declaration that her previous statements about her parents’ legal situation were “not factual,” Savannah said: “I would love to know what steps she has taken to verify or maybe see if the information is accurate. … This judge has not done her research when it comes to the conditions [of the prisons my parents are in].”

Savannah noted that her prison reform advocacy is something she’s “not just doing this for my parents,” but for the “thousands of other individuals who are incarcerated.”

“I’m very disappointed, I’m very disappointed,” she said, adding that her family is “moving forward with appealing this sentence and that will happen within the next 14 days.”

The family’s attorney also noted that they’re “incredibly disappointed with the results.”

“I think we have a judicial system where Ms. Chrisley wins an appeal, her guidelines are substantially reduced and the court doesn’t give her a day of credit,” Little said. “I think when you just talk about public confidence in the courts, it’s a concerning result. I think we’re also incredibly disappointed by the personal attacks on family members, that’s just uncalled for.”

Little explained that they’re “evaluating our options about how to move forward,” adding that they “appreciate everybody’s support.”

Julie, 51, and her 55-year-old husband, Todd Chrisley, received a combined 19-year sentence in November 2022 for fraud and tax evasion. They both reported to prison in January 2023, with Julie serving her seven-year stint at the Federal Medical Center Lexington in Kentucky as Todd began his 12-year run at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida.

The longtime couple, however, began appealing their case in December 2022 and received reduced sentences in September 2023.

After their appeals hearing commenced in April, a judge granted Julie’s appeal and vacated her sentence in June due to insufficient evidence. Todd’s sentence was upheld.

“We’re pleased that the Court agreed that Julie’s sentence was improper, but we’re obviously disappointed that it rejected Todd’s appeal,” the Chrisleys’ attorney Alex Little told PEOPLE in a statement.

“With this step behind us, we can now challenge the couple’s convictions based on the illegal search that started the case,” Little added. “The family appreciates the continued support they’ve received throughout this process. And they’re hopeful for more good news in the future.”

Several days before her resentencing hearing, it was indicated via the official Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) website that Julie was no longer in their custody.
