Israel’s defence minister has warned that Gaza City will be completely destroyed if Hamas refuses to disarm and release all hostages.
The statement came shortly after the Israeli cabinet approved a new offensive on Gaza City, despite mounting opposition both internationally and within Israel.
Posting on X, Defence Minister Israel Katz declared: “Soon, the gates of hell will open upon Hamas’s murderers and rapists in Gaza — unless they accept Israel’s conditions: the release of all hostages and full disarmament.”
He further warned: “If they do not comply, Gaza — the heart of Hamas — will face the same fate as Rafah and Beit Hanoun,” referring to two cities already left in ruins by Israeli military operations.
