Elizabeth Olsen, a passionate Los Angeles Dodgers fan, shared that she couldn’t cheer as enthusiastically as usual during the World Series due to recently having a medical procedure.

On the March 20, 2025, episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the 36-year-old Marvel star explained that although she was excited to watch the Dodgers play, she had just undergone a laparoscopy procedure. “I had the worst time when I was watching the World Series because your team was so good,” said Fallon, referring to the Dodgers’ victory over the Yankees.

“I had just had a laparoscopy procedure,” Olsen explained, gesturing to her abdomen. She reassured the audience, “I’m fine. But I had that. And I was so bummed because it was in the middle of the World Series, and I’m a very aggressive cheerer at home.” Olsen continued, noting how disappointed she was that she couldn’t fully enjoy her usual cheering routine, which often includes jumping off the sofa.Elizabeth Olsen and Robbie Arnett attend The Los Angeles Dodgers Game at Dodger Stadium

A laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgery, typically used to examine or treat abdominal or pelvic issues. Although Olsen didn’t go into specifics about why she had the procedure, it can result in abdominal pain and require a brief period of limited physical activity, which kept her from celebrating as intensely as she normally would.

Thankfully, by the time the final game arrived, Olsen was able to resume her usual enthusiastic support. She described a photo of herself and her husband, Robbie Arnett, watching the game together in Dodger-themed attire, adding that they had more team merchandise at home.

“I love that you’re so into it,” Fallon commented. “I’m so into Dodger season,” Olsen replied, with Fallon jokingly correcting her: “Baseball season.”
