Alix Earle Opens Up About Her Week After Her Podcast Was Dropped by Alex Cooper’s Network
Influencer Alix Earle has shared her feelings following the news that her podcast Hot Mess was dropped by Alex Cooper’s podcasting network, Unwell Network.
On February 25, Variety reported that the Unwell Network, founded by Cooper, had severed ties with Earle’s podcast. The report stated that the network had relinquished all rights to Hot Mess and that SiriusXM would no longer handle ad sales for the show.
Earle, 24, joined the network in August 2023, which also hosts Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast.
In a TikTok video posted on February 28, Earle candidly shared that her week had been “meh.” She also addressed the online speculation surrounding her podcast, saying, “Obviously, there’s been a lot of chatter online this week about me and work. And I also have no idea what’s going on.” Earle did not provide any further details on her professional situation in the video, which mainly focused on her nighttime skincare routine.
Just a day after the news broke, on February 26, Earle updated her Instagram followers by revealing that she already has a new business venture lined up. In a get-ready-with-me style video, Earle announced that she would be investing in a new alcohol brand. However, she kept the brand’s name a surprise until its official launch later this month.
“I’ve wanted to do something in the alcohol space since I graduated college,” Earle explained. “I’ve been trying to find some way to get involved.” She shared that after searching for a brand that aligned with her values, she was approached by a company that had been around for a while but had yet to make a significant impact. “But I was obsessed with it,” she said. “So I decided to invest in this company.”
Earle acknowledged the risks of the venture but expressed confidence in the product and the team behind it. “The other cool part of this is it could completely fail,” she admitted. “It’s scary… but I believe in it. I believe in the team and the product, and I’m very excited.”
Although the exact reason for the Unwell Network’s decision to part ways with Earle remains unclear, fans began speculating that tensions might have arisen after Earle was absent from an Unwell-hosted Super Bowl party in New Orleans in February.
PEOPLE reached out to representatives for both Earle and Cooper on March 1 but did not receive an immediate response.
